mentor Groups

Join a college-age mentor group and discuss relevant topics like career, money and relationships. These groups meet for 5 weeks at church. Breakfast snacks are provided!
The next mentor group will begin in the Fall.

  • What is a Mentor Group?

A Mentor Group is a group of 5-7 College-Age people, each paired with an older, spiritually mature adult from our church. All participants listen to assigned episodes from the “Becoming Something” podcast during the week and then meet as a group to discuss the episode. Episode topics include finding purpose, developing discipline, money management, family, dating, etc. Breakfast snacks will be served at the meetings!

*Please note that adult mentors are not licensed counselors and should not be utilized for this purpose. If counseling might be a more appropriate outlet for your particular needs, please see West Shore’s Counseling Ministry.

  • When Do Mentor Groups Meet?

Mentor Groups meet for 5 weeks on Sunday mornings from 9-10:15 a.m. in the Student Café. On week 6, mentor and mentee pairs will meet off-campus at a time and place they determine. Mentor Groups officially end after 6 weeks, although we encourage mentor pairs to continue to meet for as long as desired upon mutual agreement.

*Mentors will also be asked to attend two additional mentor-only meetings on Sunday mornings from 9-10:15 a.m. One will be the week before groups begin and one will be the week after groups end.
