Meet our Counselors . . . .
Philip J. Lawlis, Ph.D., serves as the supervisor of the counseling ministry at West Shore Free Church. Phil is a licensed psychologist with an M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kansas. Since 1980, he has been the Director of Counseling and Health Services at Messiah College. Phil and his wife, Kathy, have two grown daughters and serve as mentors for the premarital program at West Shore.

Mike Blount, M.A., has an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Bethel University. Since 1997 he has worked extensively with sexual addiction and recovery, men’s issues, same-sex attractions, spiritual abuse, career management, life coaching and relationship counseling. Mike also works at Messiah College leading men’s groups and cross-cultural courses, and as Associate Director of the Internship Center. Mike is married and has one child.

Beth Trott Clark, M.S., is a licensed professional counselor and a National Certified Counselor with an M.S. in Counseling from Shippensburg University. Beth’s experience includes working with concerns of late adolescents, adults and couples. She served as director of a college counseling center, assistant director of both a college career and an internship center and as an instructor at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Beth and her husband have two children.

Dan Lundblad, M.S.W., obtained a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. A member of the National Associations of Christians in Social Work and the American Association of Christian Counselors, Dan recently moved to Mechanicsburg from Port Huron, Michigan where he worked as a Christian counselor for the past 33 years. Dan helps couples develop healthy intimacy in marriage relationships by teaching effective communication and conflict resolution techniques. Other specialties include working with adolescent boys in anger management, helping men overcome addiction to internet pornography, overcoming depression and anxiety and grief recovery following a divorce or death of a spouse. Dan and his wife, Joan, have 2 adult children and three awesome grandsons.

Krista Cochran, M.A., NCC, LPC – Krista has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah College. She is a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. Krista utilizes a holistic approach to counseling and desires to create a safe space for each of her clients as they work together toward healing. Some of Krista’s clinical interests include anxiety, grief and loss, and trauma. She also has a passion for helping others with issues relating to fertility concerns and pregnancy loss. Krista and her husband, Sean, have one daughter.

Supervised interns may also provide services as deemed appropriate.
