Serving in Awesome Adventure

Help children develop an awesome relationship with Jesus that can be a life-long adventure! During Sunday services, children build relationships with each other and their leaders that in turn helps children understand more about how much Christ loves them. 

Nursery

HELPERS
• Nursery Helpers share the love of Jesus to infants, toddlers, and 2-year-olds by providing care to meet their needs through song, stories, and play.
• There are very simple, easy to teach, already prepared Bible lessons and crafts as the children are able.
Commitment: Arrive 15 minutes prior to service
Serve: 9 months with summers off or 6 months on an every-other-month rotation

Preschool

LEAD TEACHERS
• Train our children to know who God is and disciple them into a living, growing relationship with Jesus.
• All lessons, crafts, and activities are provided.
• Teachers take what has been given and carries them out in a creative way so that children will learn and grow in their faith.

ASSISTANTS
Assistants welcome children with love and enthusiasm and help with crafts, free time, and clean-up as the teacher leads lessons and activities.

Commitment for Lead Teachers & Assistants: Arrive 15-minutes prior to each service

Elementary

LEAD TEACHERS 
• The overarching goal of teachers is to shepherd the children God has entrusted to us.
• Teachers prepare and guide Bible-learning activities from the provided Bible curriculum.
• They teach the Bible lessons in a creative way so that children will learn and grow in their faith.

ASSISTANTS
Small group leaders will shepherd a group of 8-10 kids for the entire year and build relationships with them through the planned small group activities each week.

Other Ways to Serve

REGISTRATION DESK ATTENDANT
Welcoming and friendly faces for families to come and check in their child to Awesome Adventure. Answering questions from parents, helping with check-in and pick-up, and security presence for the kids.
Commitment: 1 or 2 Sundays per month before, after, or between services as a “Stay Through” helper in Nursery, Preschool, or Lower-level desks

ADVENTURE GUIDES
“Buddies” for our Awesome Adventure kiddos with special needs. Contact Emily Tuschak for more details. 

SUBSTITUTES 
When regular ministry partners are unavailable, subs will be notified individually based on availability communicated with volunteer coordinator.

SNACK PROVIDER 
Provide animal crackers, pretzels, goldfish, or other snacks as needs arise.
