Local Outreach at West Shore
We want West Shore to be an externally focused church, and the people who attend West Shore to work hand in hand with others for the well being and transformation of our neighborhoods and communities.
Learning to follow Jesus includes doing the things Jesus did: welcome strangers, bless children, feed the hungry, minister healing to the sick, and restore hope to the oppressed and abandoned.
We believe that loving our neighbor is as important as attending Sunday worship. We encourage you to join one of the many teams involved in outreach.
Bethesda Mission (BM), located in Pennsylvania’s capitol city of Harrisburg, is a non-profit Christian Rescue Mission. The organization has been meeting the needs of hungry and homeless people in the Greater Harrisburg area since 1914, when the mission was founded by fifteen laymen representing nine different denominations across the city.
Capital Area Crisis Pregnancy Center
The Capital Area Crisis Pregnancy Center, located in Camp Hill and Carlisle, offers pregnancy tests, peer counseling and education, referrals, maternity and baby supplies, and abortion recovery by caring and professional medical personnel.
The Center for Champions
The Center for Champions uses many approaches to impact children, teens, young adults, and families. We get to know these families and find out their needs and wants. Then, we attempt to provide programs and ministries to address these issues.
Feed My Starving Children

Habitat for Humanity
A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We build with people in need regardless of race or religion. We welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.
A West Shore Church after-school program for children who reside at Cumberland Pointe, Mechanicsburg. Provides help with homework, one-on-one reading, sports, crafts and family-style, home-cooked meals.
New Hope Ministries
New Hope Ministries is a Christian social service agency that shows the love and hope of Christ by serving our neighbors in times of need and supporting their efforts towards stability. We provide a variety of assistance and services in the Dillsburg, Dover, Mechanicsburg, and West Shore areas of Pennsylvania.
The Silence of Mary Home
The Silence of Mary Home was founded by Sue and Vern Rudy in 1999. Following the urgings of the Holy Spirit, the Silence of Mary is committed to serving Jesus in the chronically poor, whether they live within our family homes or in the inner cities of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania or Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The Nativity School of Harrisburg is a private, independent, faith-based, nondenominational preparatory middle school that exists to break the cycle of poverty for low income, inner-city boys by providing a comprehensive middle school education and by continuing to provide educational and support services throughout high school and college.
