Pass It On
by Lori Clark
Children's Ministry Volunteer Coordinator

In Psalm 78:4-6, God instructs us to pass His Word on to the next generation so they can know Him and then they can pass it on to the following generations.  When you volunteer in Awesome Adventure, you are doing just that…passing on God’s truths to our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and on and on through future generations.  And not only will you be blessing others, you will be blessed yourself.

Read what a few of our fellow Awesome Adventure volunteers have to say about their experiences:

“… we got to church and as we were sitting down a former student we had back when he was in first grade came over to say hi and give us a hug. (he’s now like 14) They have moved to Philadelphia and were back for a visit. Then his mom came over and said that she still remembers how loving we were to her son and how when the rest of the world was saying he was inattentive and “wild” we told her how much we loved his loving heart and his friendliness etc. She had tears in her eyes as she told us this. She said she’s never forgotten that.”

“…one of the little guys in our 2 year old class used to lay by the door and cry when he came to class and seemed very stressed to even come to class.  He is a special needs boy. Now he comes bounding in with a smile on his face and has even hugged us when he comes in. We are not exceptional people and if fact are really rather tired and dull but I think he knows that we are there each week and we know his name and we are excited to see him.”

Just like this couple, you may not view yourself as exceptional.  God isn’t looking for exceptional though.  He is looking for those with willing hearts that are seeking to follow and obey Him by teaching our children about His love and truths.

Through the service and dedication of our volunteers, many lives have been touched, God has been glorified, and God’s Word has been passed on.
Will you pass on the Good News?

When does a crazy idea come from the Lord?

Last fall, West Shore Costa Rica missionary Nancy Mauger contacted Pastor Terry with a crazy idea.  Nancy needed someone to provide childcare for their Latin America Mission retreat and wondered if Terry would be interested in bringing a team to do it.  If you want to get Pastor Terry’s attention, just tell him you have a crazy idea.

Don’t Underestimate a 6th Grade Boy
Jonah Steiner is in many ways a typical 6th grade boy.  He’s active in sports and likes to keep busy.  But there’s also something very special about Jonah: he has a compassionate heart for others that leads him to take action.

Winning … the only thing?

It was the final play of the game.  Trailing by six points, the team with possession runs its play and scores! But wait, the winning coach runs out on the field to meet with the opposing team's coach. What happened next is a testament to the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives.
